Bus Eireann drivers are on strike due to planned cuts by the company. Prospects of talks are still unlikely as according to the company themselves  there is now “no basis” for reconvening talks with unions reported by The Irish Examiner

Private operators tried on Friday the busiest day of the week to facilitate moving an extra 100,000 passengers or more out of the capital city Dublin but were frustrated in their efforts as train services were also affected, Some operators were definitely busier by at least 30% increase in numbers. Extra drivers were called in where extra vehicles were available however operators still had to adhere to only running services at the scheduled times according to the operating route licences.
